Speaking while accompanying the head of state on Sunday, Ruto further called upon all Kenyans to rally behind Uhuru as he seeks to better the nation.

He added that President has demonstrated that he dares for Kenyans, saying that there is a great need for Kenyans to back him in uniting Kenyans.

“We will follow your footsteps in the work you have started to ensure this great nation is united. All of us, as Kenyans, will rally behind you because you care for all of us,” he said, according to the PSCU.

Ruto spoke when he accompanied Uhuru who was the chief guest at the Annual General Conference of the Akurinu Churches at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

However, Ruto's remarks come at a time when he has been accused of contradicting the President by engaging in early politics in defiance to Uhuru's calls for political calm.

Ruto's allies have also been seen campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid, which has resulted in rising political temperatures, leaving less space for service delivery.

The opposition and Jubilee members under the rKieleweke faction have repeatedly questioned their moves, terming them a hindrance to the realization of Uhuru's manifesto.
