He as well lost in 2017 when he contested for the same seat against the late Ben Oluoch Okello, again appearing in the second position.

As much as many would say that he is a victim of the area dominant Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party's influence, it is also quite open that he lacks the needed winning strategy.

The 27 year-old has twice failed to connect to his fellow youth who form the majority of the voting block to propel him to power, an incapability that only goes back to him.

Apparently also monied enough during his campaigns and even had the finance to obtain a chopper, financial constrains were not the cause for his defeat, both in the concluded election and in 2017.

He is as well a learned fellow who cannot blame his failure to inability to come up with the best ideologies to convince the people, especially at a time when there exists professional manifesto architects.

Therefore, Oketch could either be suffering from lack of luck or is basically just not meant to become the Senator of Migori.

His series of losses is also as a result of his unwillingness to analyze the Kenyan political tendency and realize that most Kenyans basically vote on tribal and political party lines.

It is, therefore, unrealistic for him to expect a victory in an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) bedrock on a rival party, and though it does succeed at times, it rarely does.

He has also proved himself to be easily provoked by ODM forces, and should consider ignoring their attacks in the future if he intends to again vie on his Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) party in the future.

However, the nation is keenly waiting for his next move, at a time when election losers are known to move to court when not satisfied with the poll outcomes.
