Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal has said that there will be no more music concerts in the region going forward.
Speaking during this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations on Saturday, the commissioner noted that the new directive has everything to do with the approaching national examinations.
He added that the move is aimed at giving the candidates ample time to prepare and sit for their exams which are only few weeks away.
In the event that was held at the Siaya County Stadium, he directed all area chiefs to ensure the implementation of the new directive with immediate effect, reports the Citizen Digital.
The administrator further raised alarm over the increasing cases of teenage pregnancies, expressing the government's commitment to tame the menace.
He blamed the same on the increasing numbers of school drop-outs, adding that it currently stands at 42%.
Mr. Tialal added that the government will henceforth track down and punish the perpetrators involved in the same.
This came as the main Mashujaa Day commemorations were held at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
The national event was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto and was as well attended by other leaders and thousands of Kenyans.
