Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria has regretted why he attended the Labour Day celebrations at Uhuru Park in Nairobi on Wednesday.
Kuria joined other leaders and workers at the celebrations but hurriedly left before Labour Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ukur Yattani made his speech.
The vocal MP took to his official Facebook page to lament about the Labour Day celebrations.
"It is sad I attended Labour Day thinking it's a workers day. It turns out to be just another NASA rally," the Jubilee MP posted.
The Labour day celebration which was officiated by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli was attended by politicians majority from the opposition.
Leaders who spoke castigated the alleged rampant graft being exposed in the Jubilee government.
The leaders among them former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka urged Kenyans to support the fight against graft.
Kalonzo said that it is time for action on graft suspects, adding that peaceful protests could help stem out the vice.
The Wiper Party elader said that the wheels of justice are too slow and cannot help much in the war against graft.
"We must take decisive action and stop beating around the bush if we want to slay the graft dragon," he said in the event televised live.
During the celebrations, the government failed to announce a pay increment for workers as it was expected.
The Labour CS instead said the government is still consulting and will make a decision on any increment later this week.
The Kenya Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) snubbed the Labour Day celebrations.
