A 30-year-old man has committed suicide after murdering his biological son in Kangundo, Machakos County.
The deceased is said to have killed his four-year-old son and later hanged himself at Kyandili village on Thursday.
Kangundo police boss Benjamin Ong'ombe confirmed the incident.
Ong'ombe said the man committed the heinous act after a brawl with his wife.
The two are said to had disagreed on Wednesday evening prompting the wife to return to her parents' home.
Kangundo assistant county commissioner Fredrick Nkuyayu said the man hanged his son and later used the same rope to hang himself.
"His body was found dangling from a tree in the farm by neighbours who raised alarm," Nkuyayu said.
"The boy had marks on his neck showing that he had been hanged first," he added.
Nkuyayu said the woman had gone to report her son and husband missing before she was informed about the incident.
"The lady went to Kangundo police station to report her son missing before the news came out."
Police officers from Kangundo police station arrived at the scene and moved the body to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital's mortuary for preservation.
