Duale says that Murathe’s remarks means nothing and will not stop DP Ruto from seeking to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to Duale, the 2022 deal between President Kenyatta and DP Ruto is solid and unstoppable.

“People should ignore Murathe’s remarks because it means nothing and Kenyans are the people who will decide when the time comes,” the Garissa Township told journalists on Sunday.

Duale, a close ally of DP Ruto said that the Jubilee Vice chair statement was aimed at creating in disunity in the party.

He said that the DP and president Kenyatta are focused on serving Kenyans and will not be dragged into petty and meaningless issues.

Murathe’s statement that DP Ruto should retire alongside Uhuru in 2022 continues to cause an uproar among politicians allied to the Deputy President.

On Saturday, Murathe said that he is ready to go to the Supreme Court to stop DP Ruto’s 2022 bid.

The unapologetic Murathe has maintained that DP Ruto is not the right candidate to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta.

Murathe has even called for Rift Valley to back another candidate in 2022.

The DP is banking on President Kenyatta’s support on his 2022 presidential bid.
