Ngilu says that Obado has to fight to clear his name against the alleged murder.

Speaking in Kitui Town on Tuesday, Ngilu, however, said that the Migori county boss is innocent until proven guilty.

“He (Obado) has to fight and clear his name for him to win the trust of his people,” she said.

The Kitui governor asked Kenyans to stop speculating on the merits and demerits of the case that is before the court.

She asked the court to speed up the murder charge against Obado in order for justice to be rendered to both parties involved in the case.

Ngilu said that Obado has people he represents and his case should be determined speedily.

Obado together with his Personal Assistants (PAs) Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero has been charged with killing Sharon Otieno.

The governor pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and is remanded at the Nairobi Industrial Area Prison.

He is expected to be presented in court on October 8 when his fresh bail application will be heard.

A section of Obado’s supporters have accused ODM Party leader Raila Odinga of allegedly orchestrating the governor’s troubles.
