Kisii Governor James Ongwae has broken his silence following the Ethiopian ET302 plane crash which claimed the lives of 149 passengers and eight crew members.
Ongwae mourned the death of the 157 who were en-route Nairobi from Ethiopia on Sunday morning.
"I am saddened by the news of the Ethiopian ET302 plane crash en route Nairobi from Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa). My condolences to the family and friends of the victims. May God comfort all," said the county boss.
The ODM allied Governor is among the top leaders in the country who have mourned those who perished in the crash where 32 Kenyans lost their lives.
Among the high profile leaders who have send messages of condolences to the bereaved families include; President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy Dr. William Ruto and NASA leader Raila Odinga.
32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians, 9 Ethiopians, 8 Italians, 8 Americans and 8 Chinese perished in the crash.
The deceased persons come from 33 different countries in the world.
Mrs Anne Mogoi Birundu one of those who died in the plane crash hails from Bonchari constituency in Kisii County.
