Former Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth could after all be warming up to deputise Raila Odinga in 2022 elections.
Last weekend, a section of ODM legislators gave the possible leads on that could be cooking behind curtains despite Raila insisting that he's not interested.
“We are asking our brother Kenneth to team up with our party leader Raila Odinga in the succession bid. It is a winning formula,” Malala told Kenneth who was the chief guest in the event to support an education bursary for bright and needy students in Saboti constituency.
Early this year, Mr Kenneth, who also failed to capture Nairobi gubernatorial seat, visited Mr Odinga at Capitol Hill where they held lengthy talks.
Mathare MP Antony Oluoch, who also attended the Saboti function, insisted that Kenneth is the most ideal running mate for Mr Odinga.
“We know you are committed like Raila to salvage Kenyans from poverty. Team up with him in the 2022 succession quest and you never know what is on the way for you,” said Olouch.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi said Raila is ready to work with right minded leaders like Kenneth to improve the lives of Kenyans.
“Kenneth is the right person to work with Raila. You have in the past demonstrated capability to transform the economy and we want you to be part of Raila’s government in 2022,” Amisi told Kenneth.https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001303045/raila-odinga-peter-kenneth-2022-ticket
During Gor Mahia trip to UK where they lost 4-0 to EPL Everton, Kenneth was among VIPs who accompanied Raila to Liverpool to watch the match live at Goodson Park early this month further raising eyebrows.
Mr Odinga has been meeting Mt Kenya politicians with Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru being the latest, a strong indication that he has interest in the region.
