Business tycoon Don Bosco Gichana's supporters have said that it could not have been business as usual if they blocked the historic grand returning fro taking place at Gusii stadium.
The supporters led by Justine Obwocha, a Kitutu Chache South resident said police were to have heard time with the supporters.
"Police knew and changed their mind. It could be a running battle. Gichana is loved by many and that was to be proved if supporters were blocked from accessing the stadium," he said at Gusii stadium on Friday.
Another support Cyrus Omweri said local politicians who were trying to use police to disrupt the grand return are desperate.
"Local leaders who wanted the ceremony disrupted will never win any elective posts. The grand return ceremony was not a political issue but, only to thank God following Mr. Gichana's release from prison," said Omweri.
Christopher Manwaye faulted Kisii County deputy governor Joash Maangi for planning to disrupt the peaceful event.
"Maangi and Onyonka are just mere leaders who are seeking to remain politically relevant. The event was to go on even if police blocked us from accessing the stadium," said Mr. Manwaye.
