Popular Kenyan comedian and TV presenter Vincent Mutua alias Chipukeezy has come under heavy criticism from social media users for pranking ‘Taka Taka’ singer Alvindo during his Monday night talk show on Ebru TV.
Alvindo was on the Chipukeezy's show for an interview when two men interrupted the show claiming they were policemen who had come to arrest him. This came at a time when police had launched a manhunt for the artist after he allegedly failed to honour a 14-day summon issued by the Kenya Films and Classification Board.
The prank, however, seems to have irked a section of Kenyans, as some of the YouTube users came out to criticise the comedian for 'humiliating' the young artist.
Some social media users claimed Chipukeezy was not considerate of Alvindo’s feelings while conducting the interview.
Alvindo is set to appear before the Kenya Film and Classification Board tomorrow (Thursday).
His song was banned on grounds that it degraded women and advocated for gender-based violence.
Here are some of the reactions to the prank.
