Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has pledged to complete old projects he started since 2013 before initiating and launching new projects.
Kisii residents have been accusing the ODM party allied governor of abandoning old projects which he started in 2013 when he took office.
Ongwae now has assured that his government will embark on completing old projects before going for new ones.
"No new project will come before the old ones are finished. I am ready to ensure the old projects are funded to ensure they are completed," he said on Monday when he visited the Kisii County exhibition booth in the ongoing Lake Region Economic Block Conference 2018 at Bomet County.
Mr. Ongwae confirmed that he is committed to leaving a legacy behind once he retires in 2022.
He called on MCAs to focus on development and stop giving empty promises to the electorates.
"I don't wish to be blamed at the end of my tenure. I am, therefore, appealing to members of the county and county workers to work around the clock to help me deliver to boost the lives of the electorates," he added.
The governor reiterated that he doesn't support corruption and urged EACC to camp in the county to apprehend corrupt individuals.
