At the centre stage was Biashara Ward Member of County Assembly Elijah Njoroge who was at his wife's home for dowry payment.

But what made the whole occasion to be the talk of the village was the manner in which the dowry was delivered.

Njoroge, a flamboyant MCA, arrived at this special event aboard a chopper, becoming the centre of attention.

'Ruracio' is a sacred ceremony among the members of Kikuyu community where the husband and his family bring the dowry to his wife's home.

The dowry can be in form of a specified number of goats or cattle but nowadays it is mostly paid in form of cash money which can range from a few thousands to millions. It all depends on the financial status of the man in the picture and the demands of his in-laws.

However, Njoroge took the traditional ceremony a notch higher by landing from the skies. He lived the literal meaning of 'a leader comes from Heaven' (Mutongoria aumaga na iguru) as the Kikuyus say.

This was not the first time the young politician has announced to the world that he is not a man of small means.

The MCA, who recently resigned from his position as Kiambu County Assembly Majority Chief Whip, drives cars with customised number plates, a sign he 'eats life with a big spoon'.

He is also famous for contributing huge amounts of money during fundraisers.
