Consequently, opposition leader Raila Odinga who is set to receive and accompany him landed in the lakeside city on Wednesday evening, ready for the high profile visit.
According to area Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's communication unit, the African Union Infrastructure Development Envoy is already on the standby.
In a statement on the Governor's Facebook communication unit, other top government officials already in the county include Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.

This is with regards to the schedule that will see Uhuru launch a number of Roads and an interchange at Ahero, Nyando Constituency.
"All is now set for President's visit to the great county of Kisumu as Right Honorable Raila Odinga lands ahead of the occasion on national launch of the Universal Healthcare Coverage and commissioning of a number of projects.
"Kisumu Governor Professor Anyang' Nyong'o, County Commissioner Pauline Dola and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia spent a better part of this afternoon inspecting the grounds,"the statement read in part.

Odinga and Kenyatta were both present for the Jamhuri Day celebrations in Nairobi's Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday, before the former Prime Minister flew to Kisumu to finalize on the preparations.
