Weda said Kalonzo is yet to prove to the nation that he deserves the position and is fit to lead in that capacity.

The High Court Advocate noted that the former Vice President must up his game in politics to impress Kenyans.

He said Kalonzo must come out of President Uhuru Kenyatta's 'spanner boy' position which he recently assigned himself and look like a senior politician.

"For him to be President, he will have to up his game on matters leadership and place himself as Uhuru's possible successor and not a servant," Weda said.

Weda addressed the press in Nairobi on Wednesday.

He said Kalonzo should also not waste his time battling junior leaders, especially from his Ukambani region, and instead concentrate on the bigger picture.

"Also, let him not spend his time fighting junior leaders as that will relegate him in the eyes of Kenyans who might be in support of his bid," added Weda.

This comes amid Kalonzo's ongoing political battle with governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) who have reportedly hatched a plan to sabotage his political moves.

Kalonzo who has in the last two general polls backed opposition leader Raila Odinga in the capacity of his running mate has repeatedly declared 2022 as his year.

However, he is yet to officiate his presidential bid and is likely to vie on his Wiper party's ticket.
