The political bond between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga seems to be growing stronger each passing day.
Speaking in Kisumu on Saturday, Odinga disclosed that he will accompany the President to Beijing, China next week.
Odinga told residents of Sondu area in Kisumu County that the trip will seek to solicit for a Sh368 billion loan for the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Naivasha to Kisumu.
"I will be part of the delegation that will accompany the President to the Asian country next week. The new SGR line will extend from Naivasha to Narok, Bomet, Sondu and finally Kisumu," Odinga is quoted by the Nation.
The ODM party leader will accompany the Head of State to China in his capacity as the African Union's High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
Uhuru and Raila buried their political hatchet on March 09, 2018 after coming head to head in the bruising 2017 Presidential race.
Their political collaboration continues to rattle the Jubilee Party with a section of leaders’ aligned to Deputy President William Ruto accusing Odinga of having motives to rock the ruling Party’s stability.
However, Uhuru and Odinga maintain that their major aim is to unite Kenyans big time.
