Mueke has not been seen in public, a matter that has raised concerns to his political whereabouts and future plans.

The former deputy governor has also kept quiet over the graft allegations facing his former boss Evans Kidero in court.

Mueke was said to be Kidero’s key pillar during his reign as Nairobi governor and was loved by city dwellers including those in Kibera for his faster approach on issues.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Mueke’s silence could be strategic in regards to the 2022 general election.

The analyst adds that Mueke could be silent to avoid being dragged into the troubles facing Kidero.

He observes that the former deputy governor's chances of making it back to politics are high.

“Mueke can make a comeback in 2022 but he has to start making a name for himself now,” he said.

There are claims that Mueke could shift political base to Machakos county.
