The two held talks on matters of national interest, as is revealed by Governor Joho in a tweet after the meeting that received little publicity.

The county boss said that their talks were centred on matters nation-building and national unity, but did not disclose their conclusion on the same.

"My brother William Kabogo paid me a courtesy call to discuss matters of National Interest in particular Nation Building and National Unity," Joho tweeted.

The meeting comes at a time when most national leaders have rallied behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which seeks to realise national unity and enhance development.

The initiative was founded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga after which they nominated a 14-member team to realise their unity bid.

Joho is a close ally of Raila and the deputy party leader of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

Kabogo, on the other hand, is out in the political cold after losing his seat to Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu in the 2017 elections.

Both leaders have separately hinted at vying for the presidency in the approaching 2022 general elections.
