Kisii Boda boda operators are now happy following the directive from the government of Kenya to extend the deadline of acquiring all the necessities required by the law for Boda boda riders in Kenya.

Some of the Boda boda in the region would not hide heir excitement after the deadline for compliance was pushed from 1st February 2019 to 1st May 2019. 

According to Nicholas Ogeto, a Boda boda rider operating in Kisii town, he has been worried about operating without a licence yet his family solely depends on his Boda boda business for sustenance.

"The duration is enough for me to get the necessities. I will be making a few coins at the end of the day which will sustain my family as I also look forward to getting a licence," Ogeto said.

"I am really happy since the government extended the deadline dates. I would not meet the initial deadline personally. But that duration given will at least help me meet process those documents," said Boniface Omanga, a Boda boda operator in Mbanda.
