Beach tourism is back on the rise after years of struggles, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has said.
Joho made the revelations to the world at a panel discussion with Josè Cassandra the President of the Regional Government of Príncipe, during the three-day Sustainable Blue Economy Conference at KICC, in Nairobi.

The event was officially opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, November 26, bringing together delegates from 83 countries.
As part of the theme “How to embed Tourism in the Blue Economy”, Joho shared insights on the Mombasa experience.
"I am glad to report that after a few difficult years, beach tourism is back on the rise," he said on Tuesday, and further shared the investment opportunities in the blue economy in Mombasa.

"This holiday season, I wish to invite you all to Mombasa. I also wish to thank the participants for the fruitful engagement. We look forward to lucrative follow up meetings," he added.
