This happened in Gesonso village, Boikang’a, South Mugirango, Kisii County.

Edward Nyabuto went missing after he was abducted by unknown people while he was returning home from Etago on Sunday last week.

The family spokesman, Pope Ondimu said his elder brother was a peaceful man who could hardly quarrel with villagers.

“My bother was a peace man. His abduction is a shock to us. We have tried to search him in all hospital mortuaries, relatives’ places in vain until Monday morning when the coat he was wearing the day he went missing was found in a maize plantation,” he said.

Area assistant chief Charles Otundo said it is not clear why the man was abducted but police officers are stealing searching for the man.

“The abductors haven’t called the family to demand money. We suspect his enemies who are not happy about his prosperity in business are behind the abduction but we will catch up with them,” he said.

He called on the family not to lose hope because the security teams are doing everything possible to bring the abductors to book and find Nyabuto dead or alive.
