A section of ODM party supporters in Nakuru County has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto over sentiments he made on Sunday concerning the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Ruto said he will not allow the handshake deal between the two to break the Jubilee government.
Ruto said he knows the details and contents of the handshake and should not be used to achieve other motives.
The sentiments have angered supporters of the ODM Party in Nakuru County who are now calling on the DP to respect the handshake.
Addressing media in Nakuru on Monday led by George Watani, Ruto wants to used Odinga as a scapegoat to leave Jubilee.
“Raila is not in Jubilee and DP Ruto is on his way out of Jubilee and therefore he is looking for a scapegoat. But we are telling him to respect Odinga,” said Watani.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Joseph Nderitu who asked Ruto to 'respect his boss'.
“We want to tell the DP to read the same script that the President is reading,” said Nderitu.
