But who is Johnson Sakaja?

1. Birth 

Sakaja was born in 1985 and raised up in Nairobi's Parklands area.

 The Nairobi Senator is the third born in a family of three children.

2. Schooling 

Sakaja schooled at the Agakhan Academy in Nairobi for his Primary education and later proceeded to Lenana High school in 1988 for his Secondary education.

At Lenana High School, Sakaja was the prefect's coordinator and served among other roles in the school's student association.

3. Graduate 

Senator Sakaja is a graduate of the University of Nairobi. He graduated with a Degree in Actuarial Science.

The Senator landed his first job when he was 19 years old.

 He, however, lost the job a year later.

3. He worked at a cyber cafe

Sakaja once worked at his aunt's cyber-cafe in Nairobi where he also used to produce music.

He developed interest in guitor playing and rapping while at his aunt's cybercafe.

4. Businessman

 Sakaja is an established businessman with interest in various sectors.

He owns the Arthur Johnson Consultancy Company that deals in financial management.

5. Politics 

Sakaja joined politics in 2005 when he was University of Nairobi student leader.

He actively took part in the 2005 Constitutional referendum.

He was the leader of the Vijana na Kibaki lobby group during the 2007 general election.

In 2013, Senator Sakaja was appointed as the TNA chairman and led campaigns for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He was later nominated as MP by the TNA party.

In 2017, Sakaja contested for the Nairobi senatorial seat and won on a Jubilee Party ticket.

6. Political mentor 

Sakaja says that former President Mwai Kibaki is his political mentor.

7. Family

Senator Sakaja is married and has children.

8. Hobbies

Senator Sakaja loves playing guitor, going out with his family and producing music.

He is also a staunch Christian and never misses church.

The youthful Senator's political career is steadily growing as he gains followers every day.

The Nairobi Senator will be among politicians who will play a crucial role in the city succession politics in 2022.
