West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo has said that his county is unique because of various things.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL show, the county boss said that the county is rich in minerals including gold and copper among others one cannot find elsewhere in Kenya.
He said that the minerals have made many investors look for land in the region to tap into the same. He also said that the county is blessed with beautiful women.
He cited the case of Miss World Kenya 2018 who happened to hail from his county
"The most beautiful girl in 2018 in Kenya from the whole republic came from West Pokot. The tall elegant beautiful black as a yam," he said in part.
The governor also said that the county has gone into the books of history as the only where adult education is compulsory. He noted that the education system in the county has benefitted both the young and old while citing the case of peace education.
The county boss also said that West Pokot is the only county where the Deputy Governor also serves as a CEC. He further defended him for being paid in absentia saying that he only gets the salary whenever he works.
The governor also said that his government has transformed the lives of his people in different ways since he was given the mandate to take over the leadership from the past regimes.
