Kenya Union of Post Primary Education (Kuppet) Nakuru branch, wants the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to reinstatement Philip Lang'at, a former teacher at Mawingu Secondary School in Kuresoi North
Kuppet wants the TSC to give Mr Lang'at his job back after he was falsely accused of a crime which the officials claim he did not commit.
“It has come to our attention that after thorough investigations by the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations at Olenguruone in Kuresoi, Mr Philip Lang’at is innocent on allegations cited against him in a letter dated May 16, 2018,” read the statement issued by Mr Eliud Wanjohi, Kuppet’s Nakuru branch executive secretary, as quoted by Nation
Philip Lang'at had in 2018 been interdicted after he was framed to have defiled and impregnated a school girl
Mawingu's principal Wilson Salpei reportedly framed Philip Lang'at due to their poor working relationship that kicked off over another female teacher within the school
It was reported Mr Lang'at had befriended unnamed female colleague, a move that was not well-received by his boss, the principal, who had the same agenda over the same female teacher
“This led the principal to serve the complaint with many letters of professional misconduct and immoral behaviour against Teachers Service Commission code of regulation offences that finally led to disciplinary action against the complainant," read the enquiry findings after an investigation by detectives, who also confirmed that Mr Lang'at was not the biological father
Mr Lang'at had his DNA collected this year, and when tests were conducted, it indicated he was not the biological father of the baby
Kuppet wants Mr Lang'at to be given his job as soon as possible as the case to prosecute the school principal continues. They also want the TSC to charge the Principal for mishandling the office.
