Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has told off a section of politicians who are attacking ODM party leader Raila Odinga over Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti's Supreme court win.
Maangi while speaking on Friday during the launch of the Coca-Cola Kuza Kazi enterprise program said Raila should not be 'crucified' after Awiti's election victory was upheld.
"Raila didn't influence in any way for Supreme court judges to uphold Awiti's win. Those claiming that Raila influenced the ruling are lying," he said.
According to Maangi, the will of the people of Homa Bay was respected by the apex court judges.
He appealed to local Kisii youths who are being used by some politicians to insult Raila on social media to stop as it was of no gain to them.
"Youths must keep off politicians using them to criticize and insult the former Prime Minister on social media pages. Raila didn't sit with the judges to make the ruling. We must respect the courts and the respective ruling no matter what," he added.
The vocal ODM allied Deputy Governor said Gusii leaders should stop being enemies to one of their own by criticizing the Judiciary which is being led by CJ David Maraga.
