The exiled lawyer said that those leaders who want the constitution amended are doing so for their selfish gains before 2022.

In a series of Tweets, Miguna on Friday reminded Kenyans to concentrate on real problems facing them and the referendum. He maintained that nothing will change even if we adopt the changes.

“Let's deal with real problems facing Kenyans; NOT a referendum that selfish politicians intend to use to steal billions of public money that should be spent on job creation for the youth who earn nothing, live in slums, but must scavenge to pay exorbitantly on basic needs,” he Tweeted.

The remarks of the exiled lawyer come at a time when the push for the referendum has gained momentum.

Leaders allied to African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga have insisted that the push for constitutional changes is unstoppable.

The proposal for the inclusion of the post of the Prime Minister in the new changes is among the areas that have raised concern among leaders from different factions.

Deputy President William Ruto is one of the leaders opposed to the changes.

Miguna also feels it is not right to change the constitution.
