The impregnated girl dropped out of school early this term from Nyankororo Primary School.

Muthoka while speaking on Friday at a public baraza in Keumbu said cases of adults chasing young girls for sex in the area are high.

"I want to assure the family of the impregnated pupil and members of the public that the suspect, Evans Nguye, is being traced to be arrested because he went into hiding after he realised police are looking for him. He must be arrested to serve as an example to other men fond of sleeping with minors," he said.

The police boss urged residents to cooperate with police to ensure the suspect is brought to book.

"The public should report the suspect to police anytime they spot him in the village. The future of young girls must be taken care of. Nguye belongs in jail," he stated.

He appealed to parents to stop defending men who are caught sleeping with their daughters.
