President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again sent the internet abuzz after he was seen taking photographs during an official function.
The photos, which were taken by State House, surfaced online Friday afternoon.
The President and First Lady Margret Kenyatta were leading State House staff in a tree planting exercise at State House Nairobi gardens.
Uhuru called on Kenyans to take advantage of the current rains to plant more trees. The head of state also called on governors and all leaders to spearhead similar exercises in their counties.
Among those Uhuru is seen photographing is the First Lady.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is among those who heeded the Presidents call and led some city residents to plant trees.
"Trees play an important role in keeping our environment clean and the air fresh. My administration has entered into a partnership with all primary and secondary schools in Nairobi, for every student to plant and look after one tree each. I also call upon other organisations, including private companies, to support environment conservation efforts in order to save future generations," Sonko said.
