After a 1 - 1 stalemate in normal time, Shabana beat Taita Taveta's Mwatate United 7 - 6 in post-match penalties to secure a berth in the second tier, FKF National Superleague, in a match that was played at MISC, Kasarani on Sunday.
Mwatate were first to find the back of the net minutes after the resumption of the second half through John Musyoka, but Dennis Nyangwono leveled for the Gusii-based side 16 minutes later.
Shabana scored their kicks from the mark through Joash Ogega, Andrew Ongwae, Stephen Ogati, Evans Obutu, Wycliffe Nyangechi, Peter Ogechi, and Hadi Hamisi; as Wanyonyi Manase, Paul Otini, Nakari Ojambo, Oliver Maghanga, Salim Munubi, and Juma Mwazizi converted for Mwatate United while Victor Omollo missed his kick to gift Shabana victory.
Shabana finished second in Division 1 Zone B while Mwatate United was second in Division 1 Zone A.
Shabana now joins Fortune Sacco and Eldoret Youth in the FKF National Super League (NSL).
Meanwhile in other encounter staged at the same venue, It was a sad story for the Ken Kenyatta boys as Nakumatt trailed 2 - 0 past Ushuru FC in the second leg of promotion play-off to retain in the topflight slot.
Joseph Waithera curled home for Nakumatt on the 23rd minute, thanks to Timonah Wanyonyi effort, before he added a brace later to seal a 3 - 0 aggregate over the taxmen.
