Renowned  Kamba Gospel musician Stephen Kasolo has won the Eastern region song of the year Groove Awards 2019.

Kasolo clinched the Award courtesy of his hit song Kyaa Kya Ngai  during the Groove awards on Saturday night.

It is the the fourth time in arrow that the singe is clinching the Award.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the Award on Saturday night, Kasolo attributed his success to God.

The Gospel singer said that God has been faithful to him noting that without Him he would not have made it to the Gospel limelight. 

“The fame I enjoy today is because of God and I urge upcoming Gospel singers and talented young people to trust and believe in God,” he said during the event at Monevick hotel in Nairobi.

Kasolo also thanked his supporters who he said have continued to stand with him in his gospel journey.

The song had been nominated among other songs like Kava Ndiwe yesu by Wliberforce Musyoka, Mundu Uiva by Evangelist John Kay, Ngwate Kwoko by Justus Myello, Tamuka Ndeto by Eunice Kyalo and Testimony by Blessing.

The Groove Awards that was started in 2014 is the biggest Kenyan Gospel Awards held annually.The Awards aim at celebrating excellence in gospel music in Kenya and Africa at large.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Ezekiel Mutua and Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris were among the top guests who graced the 2019 Groove Awards ceremony.
