A vocal human rights activist from the North Eastern region has revealed the 'real faces' behind the abduction of the two Cuban doctors in Mandera.
Posting on her social media pages, Prezo Nazlin Umar claimed the disappearance of the two foreign medics has nothing to do with Al-Shabaab militants.
Nazlin alleged that Somali political warlords were behind the disappearance.
"Alshabaab didn't quite abduct the Cuban doctors. Let Somali warlord politicians be investigated. They use Al-Shabaab as a ploy," she wrote on her Facebook page.
Nazlin's revelation comes at a time the security departments have linked the abduction incident to Al-Shabaab.
Amid the new developments, a joint rescue operation involving the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) the Kenya Police, Anti Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) together with local police reservists have already crossed into the Somalia border in a rescue operation.
Incidentally, local Somali elders from Mandera have already revealed intentions to engage their colleagues in the war-torn country to convince the Al-Shabaab to release the duo unconditionally.
It is now a game of wait-and-see if the two Cuban will be traced and successfully released unhurt.
