With all eyes now turning to Milimani Law Courts, Obado will be fighting to get bail as his defense team battles to exonerate him from the clandestine murder case.

And the prosecution will parade strong witnesses whom they believe would sustain their case

Barack Oduor, the Nation journalist, who was abducted along with the slain student, will be among the key witnesses.

Mr. Oduor, who survived by jumping out of the Toyota Fielder, had been following a story in which Governor Obado is said to have impregnated the university student.

Already, he has recorded a statement and put under witness protection by the state to help in prosecuting the case.

Taxi driver Jackson Gombe, who was arrested last week, will also be crucial for the prosecutors with reports indicating that he had admitted of driving the vehicle when the two were abducted.

In his accounts, the Standard reported, he insisted that he wasn't aware of his clients plan until when they reached at Kodera forest.

The driver is also said to have informed detectives that he saw the Migori governor at the crime scene during the fateful day thus making his a prime witness.

The third witness remains largely anonymous with sources saying he's also a taxi driver who happened to have drive unknowingly Mr Obado from Oyugis to the crime scene.

Police have kept his identity anonymous but sources say he will appear as one of the key witnesses.

Mr. Obado was charged with murder, a crime which he denied before being remanded to Industrial Area prison on Monday.
