Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren has hit out at a section of North Rift leaders who have been attacking the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over the ongoing fight against corruption.
Speaking to the press at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Eldoret depot on Monday, Tiren dismissed allegations that ongoing fight on graft was targeting a certain community or individual ahead of the 2022 general elections.
“If anyone is found culpable of corruption, then the full force of the law should take its course and President Uhuru Kenyatta should crack the whip on such officers,” said Tiren.
“Let us not use our tribes to shield corrupt individuals. If you stole, it was you alone, one should carry their own cross. The faster we deal with corruption the better for our country,” he added.
The two-time legislator who has been branded a rebel in the ruling Jubilee party further warned politicians against dragging the name of the president in the fight against corruption.
A section of Deputy President Wiliam Ruto's allies among them Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei are on record claiming that the DCI was being used to target the DP in the latest graft purge over mega-dam projects in Elgeyo Marawet and Nakuru counties.
