Rebel Jubilee party Member of Parliament Alfred Keter has of late been missing in action.

The Nandi Hills MP is well known for his sharp criticism on Deputy President William Ruto despite coming from the Rift Valley region which is of no doubt solidly behind the DP’s leadership and his 2022 presidential bid.

Unlike his Cherangany counterpart Joshua Kutuny who has openly joined the ‘Kieleweke’ movement which is strongly against Ruto’s presidential ambitions, Keter has gone silent on any politics against the self-proclaimed hustler.

After the 2013 general elections, Keter ditched his party and became a strong critic of Uhuru’s leadership to the extent that he actively campaigned for rival KANU party candidate during the Kericho by-elections in 2016.

However, he reconciled with his party members shortly after the 2017 general elections simply because he would not make it to the parliament without Jubilee party which is so popular in his constituency.

Just like 2017, the outspoken MP has to choose between backing  DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid or lose the Nandi Hills parliamentary seat as the nature of Kenyan politics will not change.

There are also claims that Keter is planning to contest for ‘bigger’ seat in Nandi county and he, therefore, has no other option apart from reconciling with the man from Sugoi.
