Lawyer Nelson Havi has mocked a group of human rights activists who on Wednesday staged protests in Nairobi over rampant corruption in the country.
In a tweet, Havi wondered why individuals who participated in the controversial repeat presidential poll in October 2017 should hold demonstrations against the government.
"Why should those who voted on 26.10.2017 protest in the first place?" he tweeted.
In the protest, the activists were pushing the government to sack all individuals mentioned in corruption activities citing the deterioration of the economy as a result of the theft of public funds.
The demonstrations were interrupted by the police who also arrested the lead activist Beatrice Waithera commonly known as Betty Wa Shiro.
The arrest of the activist drew rage among Kenyans who demanded her immediate release after she was denied bail by the police but later released unconditionally after Kenyans called for her release.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has been on record saying he will fight corruption in his administration, a promise that has not been actualized with several multi-billion graft allegations rocking his administration.
