Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has come out to respond to a video where President Uhuru Kenyatta was captured on tape warning Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
In the video doing rounds on various social media platforms, a furious Uhuru who had just completed his official speech during the Nairobi Agriculture Society of Kenya (ASK) Show, was captured speaking some words to CS Kiunjuri in Kikuyu while pointing a finger at him.
Although the video cannot be heard clearly, some sources have indicated that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s words in Kikuyu were, “Mungiriha nimukuona inyui.” In English the words loosely translate to “if you attempt to pay, you will see the consequences.”
William Kabogo reacted to the video giving his personal views on what should be done to those paying poor farmers' money to cartels.
“He should be fired and charged with economic crime together with his briefcase farmers. It’s him who was referring them to the board including MPs especially the Tanga Tanga movement,” he said.
President Uhuru during his speech warned the Agriculture CS and the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) officials against paying cartels money yet ordinary maize farmers suffer.
“I promise you and I swear before God, you try that again and you will see what will happen to you. We have seen what you did and we will follow you, government’s money belongs to the mwananchi, pay mwananchi first,” warned a furious Uhuru.
