Tension is brewing in Mandera Town after Administration Police officers approximated to be at least 14 in number forcefully stormed Mandera Police Station Thursday night.
According to the Daily Nation, the Administration Police officers wanted to free one of their colleagues, constable Richard Githaka Karanja, who had been arrested by the regular police officers over alleged involvement in robbery with violence.
At gunpoint, the AP officers attached to Rapid Deployment Unit in Kapendo, Mandera county went to the station on foot and in full combat gear while firing in the air.
Moments after freeing their colleague, the AP officers then fired in the air again as they left the station towards their camp.
