Garissa County has received a new police commander in a raft of changes announced by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.
Alfred O. Angengo now replaces the immediate former Richard Kerina as announced by IG Boinett, who was speaking during the ongoing police conference on security that is currently ongoing in Mombasa County.
Just a fortnight ago, Boinnet named new regional police commanders in what he revealed as his strategy to boost security across the counties.
In the changes, Paul Soi was named as the North Eastern regional commander.
The changes come at a time when the country faces security threats from Al-Shabaab cells.
Among the most recent attacks include the attack at the DusitD2 in Westlands and the Sunday evening attack on a Chinese construction site in Garissa County.
