A section of Kalenjin leaders have over the last few weeks emerged to condemn the ongoing war on graft, terming it a scheme to victimize the region and some of its leaders.

But considering that the same only began happening after Raila's union with President Uhuru Kenyatta last year, Weda noted that it could be a plan to raise his winning chances in the 2022 presidential race.

The commentator said that Ruto is most likely using Raila's activeness in the anti-corruption purge to emerge a victim since he has always been associated with corruption.

He said that the aim is most likely achieving big in the sympathy vote.

"Ruto has realized that Raila controls a large constituency and is now trying to use him to realize his dream.

He has collected his diehards and is now saying that the purge is targeting them, hoping for the sympathy vote," he observed.

The commentator was speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show Wednesday morning.

Weda advised Raila to avoid being used by stopping lowering himself to his level and instead of playing in the top league where he belongs.

"Raila should not be causing fear among some Kenyans and though he is in support of the purge, let him don't from the top.

Let him be a statesman and a national figure to avoid being seen as a threat to a specific group of Kenyans," he advised.
