Roles and functions of Kisii Municipality Board members have been revealed.
Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi while speaking on Thursday during the induction of the board members said the members will work around the clock to hasten development across the county.
"The Municipal Board will take care of the construction and maintenance of municipal markets, abattoirs, fire stations, emergency and disaster management within the municipality as well as promoting sports and cultural activities within the township," he noted.
Maangi warned the board members against corruption while discharging their duties.
"Graft remains illegal and punishable by law. Anyone in the municipality found engaging in dubious dealings with an aim to embezzle public funds will not be spared. Every individual must be accountable and maintain high levels of integrity," he added.
The 2022 Kisii County Governor hopeful reiterated that he is working around the clock to ensure Governor James Ongwae will leave a development legacy.
"I am committed to ensure my boss is fulfilling his dreams to the people of Kisii County. Local politicians should keep off retrogressive politics," noted Maangi.
