Constitution.

The Ukambani political kingpin, however, said he will not support the scraping off of the Senate.

Speaking during the opening of the third African Political Summit in Nairobi on Wednesday, the former Vice President said the proposed changes are good for the nation.

He defended his Tuesday meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta in State House.

Kalonzo said the meeting was based on development matters and nothing else as alleged.

“If you have to amend the Constitution, I believe it should be about now. But if you ask me about scrapping the Senate, I will disagree. If anything, let us strengthen it. Make it the Upper House because that is where you have a serious debate,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo asked President Kenyatta to consider the Ukambani region in matters of development.

He urged the Jubilee administration to upgrade various roads including Kibwezi-Mutomo, Kitui-Mwingi, Kandwia-Gatunga and Usueni roads.

Kalonzo has maintained that he will support the Jubilee leadership for the next four years.

He is looking forward to ascend to power in 2022.

The Wiper leader has insisted that he has what it takes to beat Deputy President William Ruto when that time comes.
