Speaking at the funeral function of the late Peter Amukoya in Nambale Constituency, Busia county, the former Budalangi MP urged all leaders to uplift the living standards of the poor citizens rather than waking up daily politicking.

He urged all leaders across the board from the county to national level to stop the loggerheads and debate about the 2022 polls.

"Urged leaders in Busia county across the board to first focus on developing the county before engaging the political gears for 2022," Ababu said.

The decorated politician added that leaders should focus on actualizing President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big four agenda for the realization of sustainable development goals (SDG).

The Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) of Foreign Affairs is tipped to succeed Busia Governor Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong whose term ends in 2022 after successfully serving his two gubernatorial terms as per the law.

Namwamba is rooted among the youths and considered the mentor of upcoming young leaders across the country.

He has been utilizing the Ababu Namwamba Foundation, a charity that supports education, talent growth and economic empowerment for hundreds of young Kenyans to advocate for youth governance, championing education.

Ababu calls the foundation his ‘payback’ to Kenya, himself being a beneficiary of a Jomo Kenyatta Foundation scholarship in high school.

His foundation offers scholarships to bright students from economically challenged backgrounds and runs a mentorship program for students.

Through the foundation, Ababu supports the development of sporting talents and works with women and youth groups on income-generating activities.
