Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori were on Thursday expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
This was after the party’s disciplinary committee, the National Executive Council (NEC) directed that the two be expelled for associating with DP Ruto.
"NEC has endorsed the recommendation by the Disciplinary Committee to expel Hon Aisha Jumwa and Hon Suleiman Dori from the party. National Governing Council of the party to be convened to ratify the recommendation," said ODM.
This move has however attracted varied reactions from both Kenyans and leaders.
Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna was quick to weigh in on the matter.
He came out guns blazing to attack the ODM Party for their actions defending the expelled duo.
“Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori have been "expelled" from @TheODMparty because they support @JubileePartyK's Deputy Leader and the deputy president of the illegitimate @UKenyatta regime. That's hypocritical because the ODM leader @RailaOdinga supports @JubileePartyK's leader,” tweeted Miguna.
According to the Canadian barrister, it is ODM leader Raila Odinga who publicly supports their opponents.
“Neither Aisha Jumwa nor Suleiman Dori has formed another party; nor have they joined another party. Only @RailaOdinga publicly supports another party @JubileePartyK and party leader @UKenyatta. It is @RailaOdinga who has contravened the Political Parties Act. #EducationDay,” added Miguna Miguna.
