Addressing the press outside at the parliament buildings, the leader who has been advocating for arrest and prosecution of corruption suspects took issue with President Kenyatta's announcement that he will wait for the court's nod before dealing with them.

Mudavadi wondered why Uhuru is taking the long route, urging him to quicken the process by sending them packing immediately their names feature in scandals and graft sagas.

"Though he (Uhuru) spoke firmly on issues of graft and expressed his determination to handle corruption as per the constitution, I still believe the honorable should have happened. Instead of waiting for them to be arraigned, he should have directed the mentioned group to do the honorable and resign before the judicial process begins," he said.

Mudavadi urged state officials and Cabinet Secretaries who are under investigation for issues to do with corruption to do the nation a honor and resign.

He stressed on the need for them to individually opt out, noting that their continued stay in their positions is becoming an embarrassment to Uhuru's government.

"If you have been a guest at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) then it would be better to do the honorable and not wait to be fired. People who have embarrassed this government should move out," he added.

In his speech, Uhuru reiterated his commitment to wiping corruption out of Kenya, noting that the fight is on and will continue until himself and Kenyans unlitmately secure a win.
