Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino is optimistic that the Supreme Court will uphold his August 8, 2017, election victory.
The Chief Justice David Maraga-led court is set to deliver its judgement on Friday on the petition filed by Owino's opponent Francis Muriithi.
The Jubilee Party candidate moved to the highest court in the country after the Appeal Court overturned a ruling by High Court that Owino's win was null and void.
While asking his supporters to turn up in large numbers to hear the much-awaited ruling, the first time MP expressed optimism that his victory will be upheld since it had 'came from God'.
"I welcome you all to the Supreme Court buildings from 8:00 am for this date with destiny confident that the Judiciary will uphold the will of the people of Embakasi East who elected me to serve them as their Member of Parliament," Owino said in a post on his official Facebook account.
"Leadership comes from God. And what God has given, no man can take away!" the former student leader at the University of Nairobi added.
A votes recount ordered by the Appellate court last year showed Owino, who vied on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket, got 46,817 votes against Muriithi's 42,501 votes.
