Kenyan actor Kone Nouhoum passed on Thursday morning after succumbing to injuries five months after his accident.
The celebrated actor, who was a familiar face in our local screens, was involved in an accident in Naivasha last year October.
He has since had been admitted at Nairobi Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
Kone’s passing is a loss not only for the film and TV industry in Kenya but the fans he wowed with his diverse performance, whether he was playing the villainous Reagan Mackenzie in popular Swahili telenovela Selina or the beloved Hakeem in Mali.
He may be gone, but his great talent on screen lives on, here are his best TV roles and where you can find him to celebrate his work.
1. Reagan Mackenzie, Selina
In Selina, his most recent work, Kone played the business smart and conniving Reagan Mackenzie up until his accident when he was replaced by Lenana Kariba (Plan B, Auntie Boss).
Selina which airs on Maisha Magic East and Showmax also features singer-actor Pascal Tokodi (as Kone’s brother Nelson) and newcomer Celestine Gachuhi in the titular role of Selina, which earned them both Kalasha nominations for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively in 2018.
2. Sean, New Beginnings
Insignia’s New Beginnings features Kone as Sean, a man who wakes up from a 5-year coma to find that life moved on without him – his best friend Derek (Joe Kariuki, How to Find a Husband) married his wife, played by TV presenter Maya Hayakawa, hence the beginning of an intense love triangle.
Kone joined New Beginnings as Sean in season 2, replacing Neville Misati (Rafiki, How to Find a Husband) who played the character in season 1.
If you want to catch up with Kone playing the role of Sean, you can find New Beginnings on Fridays on KTN and on Showmax.
3. Hakeem, Mali
NTV’s Mali was the show to run home to after a long day at work, not only for its intriguing family drama but also for blessing us with the captivating Mkamzee Mwatela’s Usha Mali.
Mali revolves around the wealthy Mali family who are caught in a power struggle after the patriarch of the family dies.
