Millionaire businessman Don Bosco Gichana now says former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka played an integral role in fighting for his freedom during the five years stay in a Tanzania prison.
Accused of money laundering and fraud, Bosco struggled to have his freedom back, and now says Tanzania's justice system is '20 years behind Kenya'.
"Only Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka visited me in prison and offered through his lawyers pro bono legal advice.”
He added: "The lawyers have been taking me through the case until I was released after pleading guilty."
Interestingly, despite his political connections, only Kalonzo Musyoka ever visited him along with several ordinary Kenyans.
A fortnight ago, Bosco was fined Sh15 million which he managed to raise through Raila Odinga, William Ruto, James Ongwae and Oscar Sudi along with family members.
Authorities in Dar es salaam banned him from ever stepping in Tanzania, an issue he says doesn't bother him because 'he has nothing special he can do there'.
In coming weeks, Bosco adds, he will throw a homecoming party in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties, his traditional strongholds.
