Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Sunday told off lawyer Donald Kipkorir for claiming that the Mulembe community has nothing to offer.

The lawyer said that the leaders are only united when they attend funerals.

Kipkorir claimed that the leaders have not been united on matters affecting their people, adding that they only come together when it is time for mourning their loved ones.

“Is there anything else that brings Luhya Nation and its Leaders together other than funerals? How can Death be an ideology? Why can’t their Sugar Economy which is in the hands of tiny cartel bring them together? Luhya can be our Mauritius but they rather celebrate death than Life," he said.

The remark didn’t augur well with the Khalwale, who has vowed to stand with Deputy President William Ruto until he becomes President.

Khalwale reminded the lawyer that the community knows what it stands for and there is no need to remind them of the same.

He said the community has enough lawyers who can solve their issues, adding that they do not need another.

“Chief, remember that when the whiteman set foot on Kenyan soil, he found ours was the only civilized community which observed dignified burial rites for their dead. Other communities left their dead for wild animals. If our economy will be fixed by a lawyer, we’ve enough of them,” he responded moments after the lawyer posted.
