Journalists based in Machakos on Monday morning stormed Shalom hospital in Athi River demanding justice for their colleagues baby identified as Ethan.
The baby died at the facility under unclear circumstances.
Carrying placards, the scribes marched to the hospital peacefully asking for answers from the management on what really transpired.
However, the hospital administration was adamant to address the journalists with the guards manning the gates locking them out.
The hospital managing director George Onyango was forced to sneak out of the hospital.
Erastus Mulwa, journalists chairman in Lower Eastern noted with concern that despite horrific incidents being reported in the hospital no legal action has ever been taken.
Citizen radio's correspondent Michael Mutinda also narrated his ordeal with the same facility.
Mutinda said his wife lost her child at the same hospital three years ago during delivery.
"I am also a victim. I lost my child here due to nurses' negligence. My wife had nobody to assist her during delivery. Nurses were on WhatsApp and Facebook instead of assisting her. She gave birth to a dead child," Mutinda said.
Ethan allegedly died 2-hours after a nurse gave him a jam on Sunday.
The child's mother Juliana Mutheu said she took him to the hospital after he got burned by water from a dispenser. Before then, Mutheu said her baby was playing and cheerful.
Governor Alfred Mutua is expected to visit the facility later on Monday.
